It’s rare to find an entrepreneurial success story that literally started from the ground up, but for Don Hearn Sr., his legacy began in 1966 with the purchase of a backhoe to install a septic system for his own home.
These humble beginnings became the foundation for a diverse portfolio of companies that helped strengthen the region’s economy for the next 50 years. Don Hearn Sr., together with his sons Don Jr., Bradley and Steven, have demonstrated remarkable ingenuity for launching businesses that exceed the expectations of customers both locally and from around the world.
The Hearn Group is founded.
Hearn and Sons Trucking is founded.
Expansion of Hearn Harbour Terminals on the Detroit River.
The Hearn Group purchased and renovated the old Dominion Forge Building and transformed it into the largest warehousing complex in the area.
Hearn Automotive Inc. opened.
Hearn Logistics Inc breaks ground on Sprucewood Avenue to build a 450,000 square foot facility.
Phase I of Hearn Logistics is completed creating 164,000 square feet and employs over 100 skilled trades workers.
Phase II of Hearn Logistics is completed, adding 130,000 square feet at the Sprucewood location.
Sprucewood Project is completed and the warehousing facilities nearly double in size due to demand.
The Hearn Group also opens warehouse facilities in Michigan and Mexico.
The Hearn Group amalgamates their divisions and changes its name to Hearn Industrial Services to reflect their commitment to being a ONE STOP SERVICE EXPERIENCE.
