Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Hearn Industrial Services in Taylor Michigan is seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines and heavy equipment, forklifts, and trailers. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines, forklifts and trailers and all related systems to identify issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems in diesel engines, forklifts and trailers for industrial equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
• Collaborate with other service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing or repair purposes.
• Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or field environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive repair, specifically with diesel engines.(3-5 years required)
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose complex issues.(3-5 years required)
• Familiarity with electrical systems related to diesel engines and industrial equipment.(3-5 years required)
• Experience in equipment repair and vehicle maintenance is preferred.(3-5 years required)
• Ability to solder components as necessary for repairs.(3-5 years required)
• Heavy equipment operation experience is a plus.(3-5 years required)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.(3-5 years required)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Valid Diesel Mechanic license is required
• Valid driver's license is required.

Schedule -Day Shift-Hours will be determined at interview. Overtime-evenings and weekend availability if needed.

Wage -$32.00 -$38.45 per hour-Depending on experience

Service Vehicle will be provided
