Reporting directly to the senior management team, the Operations Manager has functional authority over all Operations – logistics, automotive sequencing and sub assembly, quality containment and supply chain service activities - within the Hearn Industrial Services Chicago Indiana facility and at client locations as required.
· Have a solid understanding of human resource and administration, payroll, performance management
· Oversee employee corrective action processes to ensure all employee related matters are handled in a fair, consistent and professional manner.
· Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; -implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;problems; complete audits,identify trends-
· Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions
· Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures;develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping
· Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
· Responsible for all supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
· Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace
· Develop performance metrics that clearly outline expectations of each role, and ensure employees have the knowledge, training and ability to perform to expectation
· Review and provide support as needed, ensuring required onboarding and job specific training is implemented in a timely manner;ensure training documentation is maintained and updated
· Monitor process compliance and ensure the facility runs safely and efficiently
· Build and maintain internal team with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and service
· Mentor supervisors, managers and all staff for professional growth
· Manage compliance of the facility and operation within all city, state, federal laws and OSHA regulations
· Maintain strong communication with both internal and external customers
· Address customer concerns in a timely, proactive, and professional manner
· Other duties as assigned by management
· Post-Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain / Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality or Automotive or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience
· Minimum five (5) years of managing logistics operations, with preference to those experienced in a Tier 1 automotive sequencing/manufacturing environment.
· Exceptional communication, problem solving and analytic skills
· Fluent in Microsoft Office programs, specific to MS Outlook, Excel and Word
· Must carry a valid driver’s license
· Knowledge of CMMS an asset
