Hearn Industrial Services in East Chicago Indianna has launched a new manufacturing facility. We will be recruiting several Forklift Operators. Please see below for details.
Important details:
Candidates must be prepared to train and work on the line when not needed to drive forklift. The potential of being on the truck is often high.
Required skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Valid forklift certification
- 5 years working experience driving a forklift in a busy warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (will ask for proof)
- Previous experience working in shipping / receiving is preferred
- Ability to work 10.5-hour shifts
- Proficient at reading and writing English

- Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Supporting the production line to ensure the labourers do not run out of automotive parts.
- Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, which includes pre-and post shift inspection of vehicle and reporting of any maintenance requirements or issues with the equipment.
- Receive and unload inbound shipments, safely move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Work with team members to ensure appropriate records and reports are completed to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
