Corporate Quality Safety Manager – Detroit Metro Area

Due to our continued growth, we are currently hiring for an experienced:

Corporate Quality & Safety Manager

The chosen candidate will report to our corporate office in Canton Michigan, supporting the Metro, Detroit Hearn facilities.

Summary of essential job functions

Develop and manage quality & safety objectives complementary to the corporate policies.

Develop and communicate out corporate procedures & processes for both quality & safety.

Support the sites with their quality management system, supporting compliance with corporate requirements.

Support all Metro Detroit sites with their safety program, supporting compliance with government regulations.

Lead the internal audits activities within the sites and report the findings to the management team.

Audit, analyze and report quality and safety compliance performance.

Investigates and addresses customer complaints regarding quality in a timely fashion.

Interact with customers on concerns and utilize problem solving methodologies to implement corrective actions.

Interact with employees, supervisors and managers with daily activities to meet production targets.

Support sites with developing and controlling documents, such as process flows, procedures, work instructions & forms.

Interact with the site management teams on process changes, work instructions, training records etc.

Interact with the site management teams on their safety responsibilities

Support the sites with maintaining appropriate records.

Prepare APQP / PPAP documents, such as control plans, process flows, PFMEA’s.

Lead the ISO 9001:2015 standard certification auditing requirements, interacting with our 3rd party registrar.

Develop & maintain a risk management strategy to promote continual improvement.

Knowledge of OEM customer requirements, support customer quality reviews

Ability to travel for customer visits and meetings in Canada and USA

Other Skills / Certified Training:

  • Must have 5+ years experience with developing & managing quality management systems compliant to ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 automotive standards.
    • Must have 5+ years experience in developing & managing safety programs compliant to OSHA / OHSA regulations.
    • APQP / PPAP Training
    • 8D Methodology; 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis Training
    • OEM Customer Specifics Training  
    • Risk Management Training
    • Internal Auditing Training
    • Experience in 5S Methodology & 6Sigma is an asset
